Bluebell Cottage is a cosy self catering terraced holiday cottage located in Pilton on the western edge of Barnstaple. The cottage is very handy for all the North Devon beaches and the Exmoor National Park. There is one king-size double bedroom and one twin bedroom. It has been our own "home from home" for a number of years and we still use it regularly for short holidays throughout the year.

Although the cottage is about 200 years old it has a light and airy feel with a tasteful modern decor. There is gas central heating. The lounge/dining room also has a coal effect gas fire. There is colour TV/video and plenty of comfortable seating for 4 adults.

The kitchen is at the rear of the cottage and is fully equipped for self catering. There is an electric oven, ceramic hob, fridge, freezer, microwave, toaster, washing machine and tumble dryer.
The room has dual aspect windows and plenty of work surfaces.

The rear door of the kitchen leads out to a flight of steep steps up to the rear garden area which has been paved to form a large enclosed patio. There is garden furniture and a clothes dryer. Beyond the patio is a gravel parking area for one car. This is accessed via double gates from the lane at the rear of the cottage.

On the first floor, Bluebell Cottage has two bedrooms and a bathroom. The bathroom has an electric shower over the full length bath. There is also a basin and toilet.

The double room features a king size bed, large wardrobes and a nice view from the two windows.

The twin room has 3ft beds with double size duvets. There is ample hanging space and a view onto the rear patio.

Bluebell Holiday Cottage is just 15 minutes walk from the ancient pannier market town of Barnstaple. In addition to all the usual high street stores there is an under cover mall and many interesting back street shops. Alongside the Pannier market, which was built in 1855, is Butchers Row - a unique row of butchers shops which have been trading for over 100 years (some have now been taken over by other traders - deli's, fishmongers, bakers etc). Market days are Tuesdays and Fridays for local produce.

Barnstaple has a good theatre, the North Devon Museum, large general hospital and many good eating places.
The Tarka Cycle Trail passes through Barnstaple giving flat off road access to many miles of beautiful scenery along side the River Taw estuary to Bideford via Instow and Fremington, then on down the Torridge Valley to Great Torrington.
The North Devon surf beaches at Saunton and Croyde are just 10 minutes by car. Woolacombe and Morthoe are a few minutes further on.
The Exmoor National Park is just a few miles to the east. There are beautiful coastal and country walks throughout North Devon - you will be spoilt for choice!
The Royal North Devon Golf Club with its challenging links course is at Northam near Bideford and there are many other golf clubs in the area.
There are also a good number of Houses and Gardens to visit locally: Marwood Gardens, Rosemoor and Arlington Court are just a few miles.

Nearer home, Pilton has local stores for most provisions, newsagent, pottery, takeaway. Pilton Abbey and church are at the top of the street.
The famous Green Man Festival takes place in the street in July.

Bluebell Holiday Cottage is available throughout the year for weekly lets (normally Saturday to Saturday).

Linen: Pillows and duvets are provided - Please bring your own bed linen: One king size duvet cover, 2 double duvet covers, pillowslips, towels and teatowels. (Linen available at small extra charge).

Electricity is provided by charging meter key - the local shop can top up the key for you.

So that we can properly clean and prepare the cottage between lets please do not arrive before 3.30pm. We need you to leave before 10.30am on the day of departure.

Prices range from £275.00 to £500.00 according to season.
